2025 sites of 12 districts are not functioning due to flood
12 districts including Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria in the north-central part of the country and Cumilla, Feni, Chattogram, Khagrachhari, Noakhali in the south-eastern part have been flooded till Thursday. However, the telecommunication system of 12 districts has deteriorated till afternoon. A total of 16.7 percent of the sites have been affected by the flood. But till noon this rate was 13 percent. This number is feared to increase on Friday.
This information was obtained from the time till 5 PM received from the observation cell of BTRC. According to the monitoring report, there are a total of 12,179 sites in these flooded areas. Among them, 10 thousand 154 were active.
Among the affected BTS, the highest 71 percent has been disabled in Feni. The total number of sites in this region is 656. Of these, only 190 are operational. Khagrachhari, which has the second highest percentage of disasters, has 114 non-functional sites out of 208 sites. Similarly, 36 percent of Rangamati sites are down. In Noakhali, this rate is 29.8 percent. Among the affected districts, Sunamganj is in the best position. There are only 24 sites down.
According to the sources, Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi and Teletalk are affected by BTSE. However, Grameenphone and Teletalk have suffered more losses.
